This exhibition, consisting of works primarily sourced from our permanent collection, examines art and objects reflecting several decades of design in the Northwest.
These works, created in a wide range of mediums for either fine art or utilitarian purposes, promoted a specific Northwest aesthetic during the period 1920-1970. Artists include important former University of Washington faculty members Hazel Koenig, Spencer Moseley and Ruth Penington, as well as artisans in the craft medium such as Marjorie Chase Gilleland,Virginia Weisel and Danny Pierce.
